Day 1
Dear Diary,
What is a Minecraft Guardian, you might ask? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Whoever might end up reading my diary one day, let me tell you some more about the Guardians. Or should I say, about me! My name is Kes and I am a Guardian. I protect an underwater ocean monument.
What is my duty, you might ask? It’s simple! I, along with my Guardian friends, must protect the ‘core’ of this monument, which is made up of Gold and Dark Prismarine. Several players from the Minecraft world try to get into the monument to obtain these materials, and we must keep them out. It’s easier said than done! But I like living here, and protecting the monument.
I’ll keep a log of my activities from here on, describing all of my daily chores and events.
Day 2
Dear Diary,
The life inside the ocean monument is very good. It’s replete of activities and we are on constant duty to protect the monument from outsiders. Most of the time, the only ones who get nearby are those squids. And we get them out of the area in a whim!
The monument is big, and it is made of a large central section flanked by two other wings, which are smaller rooms. The central section and the two wings are protected by our strongest guardians, the Elder Guardians. The three of them have to look after their own section of the monument, while the normal Guardians like me swim around and protect the inner and outer parts.
There are eighteen Guardians living here, and we all assist the Elder Guardians in protecting the monument.
Day 3
Dear Diary,
Another day of hard work. Phew! Being a Guardian ain’t easy at all. Even though we rarely ever get any unwanted visitors, we are on watch 24/7 to ensure the monument is always protected by any potential threat. Swimming all day up and down, in and out sure is tiring.
By the way diary, we are not the only ocean monument here. In a world as big as this one where the ocean is seemingly endless, there are hundreds of other monuments out there! We don’t really have any contact with other monuments as we never leave our own, but we are fully aware of how other monuments exist, and how they operate mostly like we do.
I intend to visit these other monuments one day, to talk to other Guardians from all around and share experiences with them. Must be fun… Anyway, gotta go to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be another hard day of work!
Day 4
Dear Diary,
Today the three Elder Guardians held up a meeting in the central section. The three Elder Guardians are known as Ohm, the left wing Guardian; Lem, the right wing Guardian; and Zya, the central section Guardian. They wanted to talk to the other Guardians in regards to the defense needed for specific areas of the monument.
These meetings are pretty common, and the Elder Guardians are always making sure we all know the best tactics and methods of repelling invaders and protecting the monument. This monument is an important part of our lives, and the Elder Guardians say we must protect the core of the place at all costs.
I didn’t know Gold Blocks were so valuable these days! But if they are asking us to do our best, we might as well comply and defend our home with all force.
Day 5
Dear Diary,
We had an invader near the monument! Well, to be fair it was just a squid. Nevertheless, it tried to get close to the monument, so we swiftly defeated it as soon as it entered our area!
The Elder Guardians praised our good work. Although it was a level Dirt threat, we cannot look down on even on our weakest enemies. After all, letting your guard down is the first step to losing a battle.
And now that I think about it, I guess we’ve never had any real invaders other than squids… I don’t know if anyone here has ever fought against any other enemies, not even the Elder Guardians. I should go ask them when I have some free time.
Day 6
Dear Diary,
I had some time off from my watch and I stopped by the right wing to talk with Elder Guardian Lem, since I am always by the right wing and he knows me very well. I asked him about the past invaders, and if he had anything to tell me.
- “Any reason why you want to know that right now?” Lem asked me.
- “Not really, sir.” I said. “I was just curious, seeing how we are always dealing with squids…”
- “Very well. I can guarantee you this world is more dangerous than you think. In the past, we had to deal with daily threats and invaders trying to steal our gold blocks.”
- “Really? That sounds tough. What happened?”
- “We always managed to keep them out, but it was hard. Having different creatures getting into the monument equipped with weapons and such… But after some time, these creatures stopped coming at all. It’s been a long, long time since the last time I saw them. We still don’t know what happened to them, but that is why we are always telling you Guardians to keep on the lookout.”
- “I see. Thank you, sir.”
So the Elder Guardians have a good reason to keep us alerted. It’s nice to know the invaders are no longer coming over.
Day 7
Dear Diary,
We saw something strange: a weird creature was observing our monument far away, in the distance. We could not tell exactly what it was, but we promptly alerted the Elder Guardians of its location.
- “Keep the area on watch! Don’t lose this creature from sight!” The Elder Guardian Ohm said.
As requested, we kept an eye on the creature, which seemed to have quite an interest on our monument. It observed the place from its location and disappeared into the deep ocean a few hours later.
No one knew exactly who or what it was, or even what it wanted with the monument. Be it a threat or not, we’re not letting our guard down. The monument is our home, and we always do our best to protect it!
Day 8
Dear Diary,
Because of yesterday’s events, we had a busy day by the monument today. The Elder Guardians asked everyone to keep a heavy watch across different points, especially around the center section and by the left and right wing doors.
- “Did you see the creature from yesterday?” One of the Guardians asked me.
- “Yes, but I could not tell what it was.”
- “Same. It was too far to be recognizable.”
- “Well, I hope it does
not come back.”
- “Yeah, let’s make sure it does not approach the monument.”
Throughout the day, we didn’t run into any other odd occurrences. Despite the Elder Guardian’s fear, the strange creature did not appear again. It seems as though the creature was no longer interested in the monument. Or at least that is what we hope…
Day 9
Dear Diary,
We had an unpleasant surprise in the ocean monument: a few of the gold blocks from the central section had gone missing. Just like that!
- “What in the world is going on?!” Zya, the central Elder Guardian said. “I was here all night! It’s impossible for someone to break into my section without leaving any traces!”
- “This is simply terrifying.” Lem said. “How could we not notice anyone inside? Guardians, did you hear or see any suspicious activity within the monument?”
- “No, sir!” We Guardians answered.
- “Gosh… But how…?” Lem said. “How many blocks went missing?”
- “Around five.” Zya answered. “There are three left.”
- “That’s really bad. But why didn’t they take all?” Lem said.
- “Good question. They could’ve taken all eight and we would not still know who did it one bit, but I think this gives us a good opportunity to improve
